Bo advises venture-backed companies on a broad range of legal and business issues relating to their governance, day-to-day affairs and corporate transactions, including financings, M&A and strategic partnerships.
Bo’s company clients span across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, e-commerce, media & advertising, food & beverage, financial technology and enterprise software.
He is passionate about helping growing businesses achieve their vision, having himself started several businesses during college and law school, including a home cleaning service and an e-commerce apparel retailer (now run by his parents) which generates $1M+ in annual revenue. Bo is a Canadian by way of Beijing, and so a native Mandarin speaker.
He served as an associate in the restructuring group of Paul Hastings before joining OGS, and received a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and a J.D. from New York University. In his spare time, he’s an avid rock climber, website designer and digital marketer.
Representative matters:
Advised an enterprise healthcare software startup in a $26M acquisition, and an HR software startup in a $70M merger;
Helped several startups complete their Series A-D financing;
Served as outside general counsel to several enterprise e-commerce software startups, negotiating partnership deals, commercial agreements and other corporate contracts, and advising on regulatory matters;
Served as outside general counsel to a private equity fund, assisting in its investment deal flows; and
Assisted a variety of early-stage startups in company formation, structuring, founder agreements, IP ownership, employment matters and early-stage financing.
